Canada Arby's celebrate Beef ‘N Cheddar 30th

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Arby's restaurants in Canada will celebrate the 30th birthday of the chain's Beef ‘n Cheddar by offering the sandwich at a priceof 30 cents at all 113 Canadian restaurants. The discounted Beef 'n Cheddar sandwiches will be offered with the purchase of medium fry and medium drink, from Aug. 18 through Sept. 14, 2008.

The sandwich was born in 1978, the year Montreal defeated Boston for the Stanley Cup. That year, a team of Arby's franchisees and operations specialists came together on an experimental R&D project to create a sister sandwich to the Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich. The result was a roast beef sandwich topped with warm, melted cheddar cheese, flavored with zesty, red ranch sauce served on an onion roll.
