Captain D's adds another multi-unit franchise deal

Captain D's has added new franchisee Michael Knobelock, who signed a development agreement to own and open restaurants in Mississippi and other markets in the Southeast.

This agreement comes about a month after the brand signed another multiunit development agreement with Zaheara Momin and Asif Jariwalla, who plan to grow the brand in the Atlanta DMA.

"We could not be happier with how 2014 has started for Captain D's," CEO Phil Greifeld said in a news release. "We are excited to bring top-quality franchise operators to the brand that will continue to develop quality growth in targeted markets."

Knobelock has signed on to own six units with Captain D's. His portfolio includes 47 Church's Chickens, 21 Little Caesars units, three Sears Appliance and Hardware stores and a few independent restaurant concepts.

Knobelock said he hopes to become one of the largest franchisees in the Captain D's system.
