Captain D’s announces record-breaking year in sales

Captain D's announced a record-breaking year for sales at its annual convention earlier this month in Atlanta, which was attended by both franchisees and corporate management.

In a news release, CEO Phil Greifeld said the company has now posted three straight years of same-store sales increases. The company has recently enhanced its focus on franchise development, with a new beach-themed restaurant design, and is rolling out a grilled seafood menu.

The chain is also marking its 45th anniversary this year, and honored its first franchisee, Lou McLenna, during the convention.

Award winners for the 2014 convention include:

• Operator of the Year: David Simmons and Michael Tidwell of SPFS Inc.
• Unit Developer of the Year: Jim and Val McClure of VJM Seafood
• Hall of Fame Inductee: Lee Cole
