Captain D's said it is continuing development in the Sunshine State, targeting Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida, according to a news release.
The chain has 30 Florida restaurants with plans for what it calls "aggressive" expansion after its fourth straight year of record high system-wide AUV in 2016. The chain reported a 2.3 percent system-wide same-store sales increase for 2016, the sixth straight year of growth.
"We've made Florida a priority market for franchise expansion," Captain D's Chief Development Officer Michael Arrowsmith, said in a news release.
