Captain D's gets 'bigger in Texas'

Captain D’s is opening one of its newest franchise location in Garland, Texas, on Aug. 23. It's the brand's second new location to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this summer and the 14th in the state. This opening is part of the brand's accelerated development plans for Texas, with an additional location slated to open in Houston this fall, a news release said. 

The Broadway Boulevard restaurant is owned and operated by first-time Captain D’s franchisees, Eric and Tae Kim, with Nathan Murrell managing operations. The Kims began their business partnership in 1998 and have served as multi-unit operators of several Dairy Queen restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Captain D’s has achieved its sixth consecutive year of same store sales increases, In 2016, the chain marked its fourth year for record-high system-wide AUV. The chain currently has agreements for another 25 new restaurants in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia.
