Captain D's has opened its newest corporate-owned location, this one on the fringes of the bayou along Government Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, according to a company news release. This is the second greater Baton Rouge location for the seafood chain, as well as the ninth statewide and part of the brand's planned expansion in the state.
A new Captain D's opened recently in Zachary, Louisiana, and additional locations — slated to open this fall — are under construction in Denham Springs and Hammond.
"Captain D's strong performance and continued growth has allowed us to invest company capital in select markets, like Baton Rouge, which have tremendous potential for our brand," Captain D's Chief Development Officer Michael Arrowsmith said in the release.
In 2016, the brand achieved its sixth consecutive year of same-store sales increases and fourth straight year of record high system-wide average unit volume. Brand expansion plans include signed agreements for 25 more restaurants in nine states, mostly in the southeastern section of the country.
