Captain D's reports 4th year of record system AUV

Captain D's said in a news release that the company achieved its fourth successive year of record-high, system-wide AUVs. Captain D's also saw a 1.3 percent Q4 system-wide same-store sales increase and an annual 2.3 percent system-wide, same-store sales increase for 2016, marking the 21st consecutive quarter and sixth consecutive year of positive growth.

"Coupled with our strong franchise development pipeline, the exceptional growth we experienced last year has positioned Captain D's for immense potential in 2017. We look forward to accelerating this momentum in the new year and taking the brand to new heights," President and CEO Phil Greifeld said in a news release. 

Captain D's opened 13 new locations in 2016 and signed deals to open an additional 25 new restaurants this year. This expanded the brand's presence in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia.

Captain D's credited the introduction of its Nashville Hot Fish, overall menu diversification and new restaurant beach design with contributing to the brand's compounding success. To date, 59 percent of all restaurants have been redesigned with 50 more to be remodeled by the end of this year.
