Captain D's sees 'record-breaking' average unit volume

Captain D's announced today its year-end results, which include a record-breaking average unit volume and a fourth-quarter same-store sales increase of 5.7 percent, the company said in a release. The company's AUV growth is seeing its second year of unit volume reaching an all-time high and the fourth consecutive year of same store sales growth.

Captain D's reported 4.1 percent system-wide same-store sales increase for the year. Unit growth was was also fueled by the opening of one company-owned restaurant, the first in several years, along with franchise openings. The company plans to continue its growth strategy during 2015, the first opening planned for the second quarter in Florida.

Captain D's menu innovations are responsible for its success in 2014 as well as its new restaurant design, the company said.
