Captain D's signs new creative

Captain D's Seafood Kitchen has selected Zimmerman Advertising, a leading national retail brand-builder agency, to handle the chain's core strategy, creative and retail activation for its 550 restaurants.
 
Zimmerman went up against Mullen in the finals of the review conducted by Hasan + Co.
 
"From the moment we started talking with Captain D's, we saw a potential in this company that mirrored the potential we saw in many other national retail brands we have worked with over the past decade," said Jordan Zimmerman, agency founder and CEO.

Sandy Clingan Smith, senior vice president of marketing for Captain D's, said the company was impressed with Zimmerman's strategy of achieving "a balance between both retail and brand in order to be successful. Our new partnership with Zimmerman has given us the confidence we needed to achieve bigger things."

First work by Zimmerman is slated to appear as a multi-media campaign in the first quarter of the New Year.

Zimmermansucceeds Venice, Calif.-based Goodness Manufacturing, according to a story in Brandweek.
 
The chain's recent marketing efforts included a comparison campaign aimed at casual dining seafood giant Red Lobster, tagging Captain D's as "Sit down food at fast food prices."
