Captain D's turns in 26th consecutive month of sales growth

October 2, 2013

Captain D's posted positive same-store sales in Q3, and turned in its 26th consecutive month of compounding sales growth in September. The brand closed Q3 with 3.2-percent growth.

Franchised restaurants experienced increases of 2.5 percent, while company locations experienced growth of 3.8 percent. Two-year systemwide same-store sales growth for Q3 was 14.1 percent.

The company also announced it is receiving heightened interest from multiunit franchisees. Most recently, existing franchisees Bill Townsend and Jim McClure signed multiunit agreements to add Captain D's units in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.

"Captain D's has continued to build momentum throughout 2013," said Phil Greifeld, CEO and president of Captain D's. "We are looking to end 2013 with a strong Q4 and will use the momentum to help roll out new innovations systemwide in Q1 of 2014."

A significant portion of Captain D's innovation focus has been on new grilled items. The new grilled menu, along with new menu boards, will be implemented systemwide by Q1 2014. Along with new menu items, the brand has been converting units to fit its new "Beach Design" remodel.
