Carl's Jr. will celebrate Earth Day Thursday by hosting a one-day plant based meat menu at a Los Angeles restaurant and inviting guests to try a complimentary "Beyond Meat" item, according to a press release. The company is also emailing an offer for a Beyond Burger for $5 at participating locations nationwide.

The Beyond Meat Earth Day celebration will take place Thursday at Carl's Jr. located at 424 W. Los Feliz Rd., Glendale, California from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. while supplies last. "We are excited to give our fans a fun, delicious way to celebrate Earth Day this year with a full plant-based meat experience at Carl's Jr.," Patty Trevino, senior vice president of brand marketing at CKE Restaurants, said in the press release. "With nearly one-third of consumers identifying as flexitarian, we continue to innovate on new ways for our guests to enjoy our iconic charbroiled burgers with our Beyond Meat partnership."

"This Earth Day initiative increases accessibility to a variety of delicious, nutritious and sustainable offerings that Carl's Jr. fans will love," said Beth Moskowitz, chief creative officer, Beyond Meat.

Carl's Jr. partnered with Beyond Meat in 2018 to be the first national QSR to offer a plant-based burger patty with the charbroiled Beyond Famous Star which became its most successful burger launch of 2019. The company has since sold nearly 12 million Beyond Meat burgers.
