Carl's Jr. enters Malaysia

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — Hamburger chain Carl's Jr., a subsidiary of CKE Restaurants Inc., has opened its first restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The franchise restaurant opened July 23 and is the fifth of 25 slated to open over the next six years, per an agreement with Singapore-based franchisee Aspac F&B SDN. BHD. Aspac has been operating Carl's Jr. restaurants in Singapore since 2005.
