May 1, 2007

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants across the United States are conducting a three-week, in-store fundraiser benefiting breast cancer awareness this May. Funds collected will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The "Pink Star" campaign begins May 2 and concludes May 23.The 2006 Pink Star program raised more than $300,000 for the NBCF.

For each $1 donation, restaurant guests will receive a personalized commemorative pink Happy Star cutout to place on a restaurant lobby display. Happy Star is an icon for both the Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurant chains, and pink represents breast cancer awareness. Guests who make donations also will receive a coupon redeemable for a free beverage on a future visit.

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's supplier Atlanta-based Imaging Technologies has donated the cost of all printed materials related to the Pink Star program as a show of support as the program expands nationwide.
