Carl's Jr., Hardee's kick off back-to-school season with new items

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's are kicking off the back-to-school season with two new menu offerings, the sourdough star and the debut of French toast dips at Hardee's.

Both products will be available today.

The sourdough star is available only at Carl's Jr. and features a beef patty with bacon, the brand's classic sauce, caramelized onions, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a toasted sourdough, according to a press release.

The French toast dips, already available at Carl's Jr., will make its debut at Hardee's and features five dips sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with a side of syrup.
