Carl's Jr. offers founders' scholarships

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — The 10th annual Carl N. and Margaret Karcher Founders' Scholarship application is now available online at www.carlsjr.com/promotions. Applications are accepted only during the month of January. Carl's Jr. will award 60 high school students a $1,000 scholarship to the two- or four-year college or vocational school of their choice.
Carl's Jr. has granted more than $400,000 in scholarship monies since the inception of its scholarship program in 1999.
Scholarship winners will be selected based on their academic record, school and community leadership and participation, work experience and future goals. Financial need and other family circumstances also will be considered.
Applicants for the Carl N. and Margaret Karcher Founders' Scholarship must be high school seniors or graduates, up to 21 years of age, planning to enroll for the first time at an accredited two- or four-year college or vocational school. Applicants also must be a resident of the states in which Carl's Jr. operates restaurants: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah or Washington state.
