Carl's Jr. plans 'major' Seattle expansion

Carl's Jr. announced plans to expand to the Pacific Northwest. According to a news release, parent company CKE Restaurants Holdings Inc. has signed two development agreements to open 27 Carl's Jr. restaurants in the Seattle-Tacoma market.

Seattle-based developers Biniam Habte and Abelome Mengstu will build two restaurants in the area in 2015 and in 2016. Burger Makers Inc., based in San Dimas, Calif., will build 25 Carl's Jr. restaurants in the Seattle area by 2025, with the first opening in 2015.

"Seattle and the entire Pacific Northwest play a key role in CKE's national expansion of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's franchised restaurants," Jim Sullivan, SVP of Domestic Franchise Development, said in the release.
