Carl's Jr. plans series of skater Rob Dyrdek promos

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — Carl's Jr. has a number of promotions planned in partnership with skateboarding legend Rob Dyrdek, the company has announced, including:
  • Limited-edition cup — In stores now and while supplies last, Carl's Jr. is offering a 42-ounce limited edition Rob Dyrdek collector's cup when customer's purchase a large drink or a combo. The cups feature three designs by Rob – one introducing his exclusive toy line, Wild Grinders; Rob's feature film Street Dreams; and his signature DC shoes. All three cups feature Rob's version of the Carl's Jr. iconic Happy Star, now with 50 percent more muscles.
  • Fantasy Factor coverage — During the filming of Dyrdek's new MTV showFantasy Factory, Carl's Jr. CEO Andy Puzder stopped by to deliver burgers to the crew. In true Dyrdek fashion of spontaneous stunts, Rob's cousin and longtime assistant "Drama" Chris Pfaff donned a giant Happy Star costume and pulled off some skate tricks for the cameras. Footage of the action will air on an upcoming episode of Fantasy Factory in March.
  • Video series — In the first of three videos created by Dyrdek, the Carl's Jr. Happy Star costume literally saves his life during a series of stunts at the Fantasy Factory. More than 200,000 fans have watched thevideoof the Carl's Jr. Happy Star saving his life, according to a news release. Additional videos from Rob will be posted in February and March atwww.carlsjr.com/robdyrdek.
  • Skate park ribbon cutting — On Feb. 24, Carl's Jr. will join Dyrdek for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. for the new Safe Spot, Skate Spot at LaFayette Park in Los Angeles. TheRob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Plaza Foundation,committed to the development of legal street skateboarding locations worldwide, received a donation from Carl's Jr. to build an authentic urban street skating environment. The new park features a Happy Star logo built into the design. Fantasy Factory cameras will film the event and the Carl's Jr. Star Diner will be on site with burgers and more for attendees.
