Carl's Jr. spreads deep in the heart of Texas

September 16, 2010

More than 100 Carl's Jr. hamburger restaurants will open up within the next decade throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Addison-based RWJP Star Enterprises is moving forward with its plans to set up the expansion across the state, according to the Dallas Business Journal, opening its first North Texas stand alone unit in Mesquite today.

RWJP Star Enterprises entered into a franchise development agreement last year, outlining plans to open a minimum of 121 Carl's Jr. restaurants throughout Texas throughout the next 10 years.

Carl's Jr. is owned by California-based CKE Restaurants Inc. There are currently 33 Carl's Jr. units in Texas.

From the story:

"We are here to grow," said Ken Shotwell, executive vice president of RWJP Star Enterprises, adding that Dallas-Fort Worth is a natural market for the Carl’s Jr. burger shops since the area has a desire for burgers and fries.
