Carl's Jr. taps YouTube video creators in online ad effort
May 31, 2009
Adweek: Carl's Jr. is working with Google on a marketing effort for its Portobello Mushroom Six-Dollar Burger that involves popular YouTube video creators. Google chose the video creators for the Carl's Jr. campaign because of their subscriber networks — a combined total of 3.8 million subscribers.
The video stars, who were paid a flat fee, will tell how they would eat a burger and mention the product by name. The Carl's Jr. videos will launch this week on a dedicated YouTube channel, the creators' pages and in ad units across sites in the Google ad network.
