Checkers President and CEO Rick Silva will appear on "Undercover Boss: Epic Bosses" May 17. Silva first went undercover for the show last year, leading to the implementation of several programs at his restaurants on the show, according to a company press release.
One of the programs now in place, for example, is the Team Member Incentive Program. These incentives were inspired by Checkers Shift Manager, Johanna, from Mobile, Ala., who suggested to the undercover Silva that everyone in the company should be rewarded for a job well done. The Team Member Incentive Program enables Team Members to be rewarded when the restaurant hits key performance targets. In the nine periods that the program has been in place, restaurant team members have earned more than $200,000 in additional pay.
Other programs implemented as a result of the Undercover Boss experience include the creation of a GM Council that assures GMs have a voice in the direction of the company, and a "Coach to Grow" program that trains team members for manager positions.
