Checkers & Rally's opens location in Columbia, South Carolina

Checkers and Rally's has opened a location in Columbia, South Carolina, under the helm of seasoned operator Shamsu Charania, according to a press release.
Charania has been in the franchising industry for more than 20 years with brands like Dunkin', TGI Friday's, Qdoba and Checkers and Rally's. As the largest multi-unit operator group for Checkers and Rally's, Charania and his team own more than 50 locations with more growth on the horizon.
"Bringing Checkers and Rally's to Columbia is an exciting new venture for our team and the brand," Charania said in the press release. "We were drawn in by the bold flavors and genuine appeal of the brand. We're eager to not only serve up delicious food but also become an integral part of the vibrant Columbia community, creating lasting relationships and memorable experiences for our guests."
The restaurant uses Checkers and Rally's new prototype look.
"Shamsu's franchising background has been instrumental in driving the growth of Checkers and Rally's in untapped territories," Robert Bhagwandat, senior director of franchise development at Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, added in the press release. "His passion for the brand, unwavering devotion to local communities and impressive management of multiple locations are a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership."
Checkers and Rally's operates 800 restaurants.
