Chick-fil-A adds 1st permanent menu side since 2016 + frosted coffee LTO

With its powerful showing at the top of U.S. consumers fast food choices, Chick-fil-A today announced its first major new permanent menu side item addition in three years with its Mac & Cheese now available nationwide as an option with any lunch, dinner, Kid's Meal or catering order, a news release said. Beyond that, the chicken-centered QSR is also introducing its Frosted Caramel Coffee LTO as a seasonal sweet treat.

The brand's macaroni-and-cheese dish contains a blend of cheddar, Parmesan and Romano with the pasta favorite and will be baked daily at each restaurant. The permanent menu addition comes after what the brand said was a very successful test in five markets nationally. 

"Mac & Cheese is the quintessential comfort food, and something we are so excited to offer our guests at Chick-fil-A," Chick-fil-A Executive Director of Menu and Packaging Amanda Norris said in the release. "We think it's the perfect pairing with our Original Chicken Sandwich, nuggets and our grilled chicken offerings, but it's also great on its own as a snack ... (and) on our catering menu as a quick pick-up for a larger gathering."

The new side is available starting today, along with the chain's cold-brew caramel coffee that is hand-spun with vanilla Icedream dessert and caramel syrup. It's available through Nov. 9 or as long as the brand's supplies of the sweet drink's components last at Chick-fil-A's 2,400 restaurants in 47 states and Washington, D.C.
