Chick-fil-A continues "First 100 Fans" promo with first Mo. stand-alone location

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Chick-fil-A Inc. plans to give away $26,000 worth of free food when the Atlanta-based chain opens its first stand-alone restaurant in Springfield, Mo., Jan. 25.
According to a news release, the company will give away 52 coupons for a free Chick-fil-A combo meal to each of the first 100 people in line when the restaurant opens.
The company began its "First 100 Fans" promotion in 2003 to celebrate the grand opening of each new restaurant. According to company president Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A has given away more than $4.2 million in free food since the promotion began.
Steve Lowry, a 17-year Chick-fil-A veteran, is the franchisor of the new restaurant.
