Chick-fil-A continues sales-gain streak

ATLANTA — Chick-fil-A reported same-store sales for 2006 jumped 9 percent and gross sales rose to $2.3 billion, up 15 percent from 2005. The sales increase marked the 39th consecutive annual increase for the chain.
Restaurants and Institutions magazine named Chick-fil-A its 2006 Consumer Choice in Chains Award winner in the chicken category – the 12th time the chain has received the award over the past 13 years.
Chick-fil-A opened a record 73 new locations in 2006. The chain plans to add 90 locations this year, including 70 stand-alone restaurants, five mall/in-line locations and 15 licensed operations.
