Chick-fil-A Cows enter advertising hall of fame

September 18, 2006

ATLANTA — After more than a decade of using renegade antics to push its pro-chicken messages, Chick-fil-A's "Eat Mor Chikin" Cows have been inducted into outdoor advertising's hall of fame.

The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) recognized Chick-fil-A and its Cows with the organization's OBIE Hall of Fame Award during a gala held earlier in August at Palm Springs, Calif.
OAAA presents the award annually to brands that have displayed outstanding outdoor creative work over an extended period of time.

Chick-fil-A joins a prominent list of other Hall of Fame inductees, including Apple Computer, Bank of America, Target, Nike, Coca-Cola, Levi's, Chevrolet and Budweiser.

"The Chick-fil-A Cows have become an American advertising icon that entices travelers with entertaining wit," said Stephen Freitas, OAAA's chief marketing officer. "The brand's ongoing outdoor campaign has remained fresh with new messages while always maintaining the core integrity of the campaign."
