Chick-fil-A expands online ordering on website

Chick-fil-A

November 13, 2020

It's only for pickup orders at present, but Chick-fil-A this week expanded online ordering to include individual orders on its website, chick-fil-a.com, according to the company's blog. The channel -- which previously was only open to online catering orders -- also gives customers the opportunity to select items from the brand's entire menu, which can be streamlined on third-party channels and through its app, where online ordering is already available.

"The ability to order online from Chick-fil-A's full menu is one more way for us to show care to our customers by making the ordering process as seamless as possible," Emily Thomson, Chick-fil-A customer digital experience team member said in the blog. "Traditionally, Customers have only been able to order catering on chick-fil-a.com. Online ordering now changes the game by providing the full menu for everyday purchases."

The qualifier on this ordering venue is that it is only for customers who are planning to visit one of the stores for drive-thru, carry-out or curbside order retrieval, depending on the options available.

The company said it tested the new website channel with some locations in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. over the summer before rolling it out nationwide.
