Chick-fil-A launches new sandwich star
June 1, 2008
ATLANTA — Chick-fil-A is finding success with its recent launch of newly enhanced menu items. Based on initial, first-week response, the new Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich is the breakout star of the chain's lineup.
On May 19, Chick-fil-A introduced an aggressive menu-enhancement campaign as a way to keep its menu up-to-date. Many of the chain's core menu items — including its Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips, salads, Cool Wraps, and the Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich — received upgrades.
While all of these products are proving successful with Chick-fil-A customers, sales of the Chicken Salad Sandwich have increased 300 percent, said vice president of brand development Woody Faulk.
The revised recipe is now served on premium Wheatberry bread with green leaf lettuce and packaged in a clear clamshell. The sandwiches are available individually for $3.65, or as a Chick-fil-A Meal for about $6.00.
