Chick-fil-A 'mootivates' customers to dress like cows

July 12, 2006

ATLANTA — As part of Chick-fil-A's annual Cow Appreciation Day celebration, the Atlanta-based restaurant chain is offering a free combo meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) to any customer visiting one of its 1,250-plus restaurants fully dressed as a cow on Friday, July 14.

The July 14 event will mark the second year that Chick-fil-A has celebrated Cow Appreciation Day on a national scale. According to a news release, until last year, customers questioned why the chain didn't celebrate Cow Appreciation Day, a nontraditional "holiday" that seems to be a natural fit with the chain's longtime "Eat Mor Chikin" Cows marketing campaign.

Although Chick-fil-A planned last year's inaugural Cow Appreciation Day event with some uncertainty as to how the promotion would be received among customers, the resulting turnout confirmed that Chick-fil-A had a strong following of customers who were not "too chicken" to like cows for a free meal.
