Chick-fil-A is now an official associate partner of the 119th Army-Navy Game, taking place this Dec. 8 in Philadelphia, where the brand will erect a pop-up shop where active-duty military and their families can watch the game at a private event., a news release said.
Company officials said the partnership is an extension of its deep connections to college football, as the company is the sponsor behind the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, which is part of the national playoff series, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game and the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame.
The Chick-fil-A pop-up restaurant is designed to bring fans of rival football teams together by creating a shared table. Members of the military will attend the event to participate in the competition, a shared meal and a watch party.
Other activities include a card-writing station to show military appreciation, giveaways, food and other events and the brand will fly in Army and Navy veterans nominated by the nation's Chick-fil-A franchisees to attend the pre-game ceremonies and the game.
The company said it counts many veterans among its 120,000 operators, team members and staff and company founder Truett Cathy was a veteran of World War II.
Army and Navy active military and veterans can register to attend the event on Event Brite.
