A number of restaurant ordering, payment and third-party delivery companies have announced they plan to give restaurateurs new ways to incorporate these vital services into their daily operations. First off, restaurant tech company, Chowly said it has partnered with third-party delivery provider, DoorDash allow restaurants to use online delivery services through DoorDash Drive.
DoorDash's platform is now running in more than 4,000 North American cities. A press release about the partnership said that this move extends that service to all-sized restaurants, giving them on-demand logistics capabilities to help streamline their existing delivery business to work better during peak times, unexpected order surges, downtime and service outside of standard areas.
Through DoorDash Drive, restaurants can now accept delivery orders via Drive's partnership with Chowly, when delivery orders are placed on the restaurant brand's native website, mobile app, or even by phone call. The move today allows the process of calling a so-called "dasher" or DoorDash driver, to occur automatically, with no need for restaurant team members to re-enter orders and addresses on a separate tablet to call drivers.
"We are very excited to expand our POS integration offering to include delivery dispatch. ..." Chowly Vice President of Sales Tom Lawton said in a release. "This allows restaurants to market and tap into the market of direct customers who are looking for the convenience of delivery, while easing and streamlining delivery operations in the restaurant."
Chowly currently integrates more than 60,000 orders a day through POS integration with brands, like Church's Chicken, with further POS integration expansion taking place in the next few months, the release said.
Also today, POS company, Revel Systems — which also works with Chowly — announced its new third-party partner integration initiative. The company said the effort was prefaced by the need to further incorporate the seemingly always-growing list of third-party technologies into its system.
A news release said the company is doing this by offering advanced developer tools and a go-to-market infrastructure for third-party partners that integrates with Revel Essentials and Revel Enterprise POS platforms. That will allow Revel partners to more quickly and efficiently build integrations on the Revel platform, as well as marketing those solutions to the company's customers, according to the release.
The so-called, Revel Integrated initiative allows end-user customers to use available solutions as part of what the company said is its commitment to "help third-party solution partners easily integrate with its POS." Partners can access a new developer portal designed to efficiently and quickly build integrations on the Revel platform.
"In today's constantly evolving technology landscape, a POS platform must be able to incorporate a vast array of third-party technologies to meet diverse client requirements," Revel Systems Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer Chris Lybeer, said in the release. "Our new Revel Integrated program makes it easier than ever for partners to build integrations with our POS, while providing the marketing and sales support essential to drive strong adoption."
Partner integrations under Revel Integrated allow users to access third-party technologies that enhance customer loyalty, online ordering and delivery management. Current partners of Revel Integrated include the aforementioned, Chowly, for online ordering, as well as Como for customer engagement and Plastic Printers for gift cards.
