Church's acquires 10 outlets in South Texas

ATLANTA — Church's Chicken has acquired 10 Popeye's restaurants in the Rio Grande Valley from Edinburg, Texas-based Popeye's franchisee CVI Co. Ltd.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to a news release, six of the restaurants will be converted into Church's company restaurants, with simultaneous grand openings slated for Feb. 12. Plans for the remaining locations haven't yet been determined.
The acquisition will give Church's 39 restaurants in the Rio Grande Valley.
