Church's Chicken LTO basked in booze, black pepper

Church's Chicken has launched a spicy, boozy LTO dubbed Bourbon Black Pepper Smokehouse Chicken, available through July 29. 

The nearly 1-pound offering includes a half-chicken marinated and cooked crispy without breading of any kind. The sauce has a hint of bourbon flavor, as well as pepper, a news release said. 

"Original Smokehouse Chicken is hard to beat, but our chefs have really taken it to the next level with the addition of our new Bourbon Black Pepper sauce," Vice President of Brand Strategy and Activation Jennifer Chasteen said in the release. 

The offering comes as a $5-meal with a side and a biscuit, as well as a family meal portion for $25, featuring four of the chicken dishes, three sides and six biscuits.

The chain now has more than 1,500 locations worldwide.
