August 13, 2012

Church's Chicken has announced that Craig S. Prusher has joined the chain as senior vice president, General Counsel and a member of the brand's executive leadership team. He will report directly to Jim Hyatt, president and CEO.

In the last 10 months since Hyatt was named CEO, Church's has made numerous additions and changes to the brand's management team.

Prusher joins Church's from Burger King Corporation where he was responsible for legal issues relating to franchising, real estate and government and industry relations in North America and Latin America. In his position at Church's, Prusher is responsible for all legal matters for the brand's global business interests including franchise law, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and litigation management, and will lead a team of four lawyers and legal professionals.

"Craig brings to Church's a strong business background in legal and corporate governance and a proven record of partnering with leaders and business units to align legal strategies with business goals," Hyatt said.

Previously, Prusher was an associate in the corporate department of two Boston law firms, Warner & Stackpole and Nutter, McClennen & Fish.

He graduated from Boston University's College of Liberal Arts and received his B.A. magna cum laude with distinction. Prusher attended the Boston University School of Law and graduated with his juris doctor and served as an editor of the Boston University Law Review

Prusher is a member of the board of directors for the National Council of Chain restaurants. He also is a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising, the International Franchise Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

"I'm excited to join the Church's team and Jim Hyatt after having the privilege of working with him for many years at Burger King," Prusher said. "This is an exciting time to join the brand as it continues to evolve and drive its long-term global success."
