Church's Chicken plans to award $1,000 scholarships to 175 high school seniors from Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee or Texas.

Students in qualifying states may apply for the Church's Scholars Program scholarships now through Feb. 27 at www.scholarsapply.org/churchsscholars

Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/trade school in the United States during the 2015-2016 academic year. Applicants must also be legal U.S. residents and reside in one of the participating states. Final materials must be postmarked by March 1. Scholarship award recipients will be notified in May 2015.

"We're so pleased that we have been able to grow the Church's Scholars Program to provide significantly more opportunities to students this year," said Tony Lutfi, Church's Chicken franchisee and board member of the Church's Partners Foundation, in a company press release. "For families, the $1,000 scholarship really helps with the rising cost of higher education and will encourage the recipients to continue pursuing their dreams."

Funds for the Church's Scholars Program were raised through the sale of Church's coupon booklets at participating company and franchisee restaurants. Additional program funding was donated by Church's employees and vendors.
