Church's Chicken is continuing its partnership with 4-year-old Austin Perine by providing 250 lunches for the tiny superhero's next feeding event in Miami on Sunday, Sept. 2 at Camillus House, a news release said. The brand previously joined forces with Perine at an Atlanta-area feeding in June that benefitted close to 300 people in need of a meal.
"We are honored to continue to stand beside Austin as he helps those who are less fortunate," said Church's Senior Director of Digital, Media, and Public Relations Laura Reese. "We've long believed that the best way to make a positive difference in our communities is to be involved and have the right attitude."
Perine first caught the attention of the media in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, where he started out by handing out chicken sandwiches to some of the city's homeless. Each of the meals also comes with a free positive thought to lift up spirits. His favorite saying, "Don't forget to show love" has become so popular it is now the theme of Austin's ongoing efforts - #ShowLove.
At the Camillus House event in Miami, Church's will be providing meals consisting of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and biscuits for Perine to hand out between noon and 1 pm.
