Cinnabon to celebrate Nurses Week with free rolls
April 28, 2008
ATLANTA — In appreciation of the services nurses provide on a daily basis, Cinnabon Inc. and The DAISY Foundation are offering a free Cinnabon Classic Roll to nurses who show their healthcare ID or badge at participating bakeries May 5-11, 2008.
"Nurses constantly put others before themselves, so we're happy to celebrate them during Nurses Week and thank them for their compassionate and caring service each and every day," said Geoff Hill, president of Cinnabon. "We also commend The DAISY Foundation for their passionate efforts to recognize these truly unsung community heroes, and we continue to grow a long-lasting relationship with this outstanding organization."
Bonnie and Mark Barnes of Glen Ellen, Calif., and their family members, established The DAISY Foundation in January 2000 to recognize nurses after Mark's son, Pat, died of complications from an auto-immune disease. During his extended hospital stay, Pat would eat Cinnabon Classic rolls and he insisted his care nurses have some as well. Since its inception, the foundation has presented more than 2,500 nurses in more than 200 medical facilities with The DAISY Award, which includes Cinnabon rolls and gift certificates for each recipient.
