CKE announces new president, vice chair

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — CKE Restaurants Inc. has promoted E. Michael Murphy, the company's current chief administrative officer and general counsel, to president and chief legal officer, effective Jan. 27, the company has announced.Andrew F. Puzder will remain the CEO.
Murphy joined the company in 1998 and has held several positions, including senior vice president and general counsel for Hardee's as well as the company's corporate counsel and executive vice president of franchising. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and a law degree from Saint Louis University.
CKE also has announced that Frank P. Willey has been named vice chairman of the board of directors, effective Dec. 10, 2008. Willey has served as a member of the board of directors since 1994.
ICR XChange presentation
Puzder will present at the 11th Annual ICR XChange Conference Jan. 15 at 2:35 p.m. Eastern time. Ted Abajian, CKE executive vice president and chief financial officer, and John Beisler, CKE vice president of investor relations, will be in attendance. The conference is Jan. 14-15 at The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, Calif.
