CKE comps up for January

CARPINTERIA, Calif. — CKE Restaurants Inc. posted a same-store sales increase of 2.1 percent for its Carl's Jr. brand for the four-week period ended Jan. 29. Sales at the company's Hardee's brand remained flat, the company announced in a news release.
 
Hardee's had been going against a prior-year same-store sales increase of 12.4 percent. Overall, the company posted a 1 percent comp increase.
 
For the company's fiscal year, which ended on the same date, comps at Carl's Jr. were up 4.9 percent while Hardee's comps were up 4.8 percent.
