CKE Restaurants period eight comps skyrocket
September 18, 2006
CARPINTERIA, Calif. — CKE Restaurants Inc. said same-store sales for the four weeks ended Sept. 11, 2006, at Carl's Jr. and Hardee's rose 6.9 percent.
Carl's Jr. comps jumped 8 percent while Hardee's increased 5.9 percent.
Andrew F. Puzder, president and chief executive officer, said both chains benefited from more favorable sales comparisons over last year due to the elevated gasoline prices that followed Hurricane Katrina.
"On the positive side, we certainly welcome the recent pullback in gasoline prices and the impact this should have on consumer spending," Puzder said.
