Cold Stone Creamery locations in Canada have rolled out the Tim Hortons Double Double ice cream flavor.
The Tim Hortons Double Double ice cream, inspired by Canada's most popular hot coffee order, was created by Cold Stone Creamery Canada's chefs and research and development team to mimic the exact combination of cream, sugar and Tim Hortons' proprietary blend and roast of premium coffee.
The premium ice cream brand will be available at more than 100 Tim Hortons/Cold Stone Creamery co-branded restaurants across the country.
"There are many coffee-flavored ice creams out there but no one else can offer a Tim Hortons coffee flavor except Cold Stone Creamery," said Andrea Hughes, Cold Stone Creamery Canada's resident ice cream expert. "Double Double fans will recognize it right away."
The flavor profile was tested for more than a year under the guidance of Kevin West, Tim Hortons' senior director of coffee operations. Cold Stone Creamery developed an extract of Tim Hortons' exclusive blend and roast of Arabica coffee beans and infused it with Cold Stone's sweet cream flavor.
"It's really the perfect marriage of both brands," Hughes said.
Double Double is now the second Tim Hortons-inspired flavor at Cold Stone Creamery Canada. Earlier this year, the Apple Fritter ice cream was launched to celebrate the co-branded relationship.
Cold Stone Creamery will also offer Tim Hortons Double Double ice cream as part of a Signature Creation and ice cream cake. The Signature Creation, Coffee Lover's Only, combines the new flavor with roasted almonds, a Skor bar and caramel.
Additionally, the Coffeehouse Crunch ice cream cake is made with layers of Devil's Food cake, Tim Hortons Double Double ice cream, a chopped Skor bar, and is topped with chocolate ganache and dark chocolate shavings. The new Double Double ice cream can be personalized.
