Cold Stone Creamery kicks off Gold Cone ice cream lineup

Cold Stone Creamery is celebrating 2010 with 10 new ice cream flavors that exhibit the gold standard of ice cream. As such, they have been appropriately named the Gold Cone collection; with each flavor featured for a limited time in locations nationwide.
TheGold Cone collectionoffers alternative indulgent flavors to the brand's Signature Creations. The first Gold Cone flavor, in stores starting today, is a recreation of the all time favorite: Oreo Creme Filling.
Other flavors in the Gold Cone LTO lineup include:
- Strawberry Cheesecake, available in May, combines the tanginess of fresh strawberries and the creaminess of cheesecake.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter, available in June, an ultra-rich, chocolate ice cream combined with ribbons of smooth, savory peanut butter.
- Harvest Peach Ice Cream, available in July and August, features ripe, sun-kissed summer peaches.
- Blueberry Ice Cream, available in July and August, features tart blueberries.
- Key Lime Ice Cream, available in July and August, replicates the iconic summer pie with a tangy meringue flavor packed with an extra burst of key lime.
The fall and winter lineup will include Caramel Apple, Cookie Dough, Pumpkin Cheesecake and Cinnamon Bun ice creams.

"By capturing the recognizable tastes and essence of everyday treats like Oreo cookies and strawberry cheesecake, Cold Stone continues to transform the ice cream industry."
New product innovation contributed significantly to the brand's success in 2009. The company experienced double-digit same store sales lifts following the launch of Cold Stone's Ice Cream Cupcakes and 400 percent category growth for holiday cakes and pies. Cold Stone expects 2010 to be another landmark year for new products.
Gold Cone product extensions
Each Gold Cone flavor will be accompanied by a Cold Stone original Creation, and in some cases a cupcake, ice cream cake, pie, shake and/or smoothie. Cold Stone's Oreo Creme Filling flavor also is featured as a cookie sandwich, named Double Stuf Oreo after the classic Oreo cookies.
The Double Stuf Oreo cookie sandwich features Oreo Creme Filling ice cream nestled between two large Oreo wafers. The ice cream cookie sandwiches will be available in all stores nationwide as a four pack at a limited-time price of $8.99 through June 30.
