Customized Cold Stone Creamery products led the company to 11 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales, according to a company press release.
"In 2015, same-store sales were up over 7.5 percent. Within the first quarter of 2016, we are experiencing an additional 8 percent in same-store sales," said Michael Serruya, chairman and CEO of Kahala Brands. "Our products are consistently on trend and pique consumers’ interests."
The growth is related to the chain's ice-blended frozen coffee Frappe line launched in 2015, as well as its specialty cake program. Cold Stone Creamery’s spring flavors called Fresh Delights continue to advance sales, Serruya said.
"For our Fresh Delights spring promotion, we are offering a delicious and decadent Blueberry Donut Shake, said Serruya. "Heavily indulgent shakes combined with donuts are very trendy right now on both coasts and have started to spread into the middle of the country, so we know this will be a popular offering with customers nationwide."
Cold Stone Creamery is a subsidiary of Kahala Brands, which includes 18 quick-service restaurant brands. Cold Stone Creamery operates approximately 1,500 locations in more than 27 countries.
