Concessions International names new business development leader

March 22, 2013

Atlanta-based Concessions International (CI), a foodservice concessionaire with operations in airports across the United States, announced the promotion of LeMonica Hakeem to vice president of Business Development.

Hakeem has worked in a variety of roles within CI and sister company HJ Russell & Company for the past 12 years — most recently as interim director of Business Development — and was instrumental in CI being awarded its Atlanta airport contract and three additional locations in its Denver and Dallas/Fort Worth operations.

In this role, Hakeem will lead the pursuit of new business opportunities by acquiring airport concessions contracts in new and existing airport markets, establishing new brand relationships, and exploring strategic diversification ventures.

Hakeem, an Emory University Goizueta Business School MBA graduate, began at CI as director of Internal Audit for both organizations in 2001. She then served as director of Strategic Initiatives and Administration for CI from 2007 to 2011, including fulfilling the role of interim VP of Finance for CI, during a transition period in 2009.

Concessions International also recently named Donata Russell Major, who previously served as vice chairman, as CEO.

Concessions International's portfolio includes franchised, licensed and proprietary concepts, including casual dining, quick service, snack, deli and bar and grill.
