Couple in Wendy's case to be sentenced
January 17, 2006
Associated Press: Prosecutors have asked a judge to impose the maximum sentence on a Nevada couple who pleaded guilty to planting a human fingertip in a bowl of Wendy's chili as part of a scheme to extort money from the restaurant chain.
In court documents filed last week, county prosecutors called Jaime Plascencia and Anna Ayala "grifters" who demonstrated "a total selfishness and perceived entitlement to other people's money."
