The Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation has awarded Hope House of Milwaukee, Inc. a $3,000 grant to support the Shining Stars Youth Education Program in Milwaukee's Walker's Point neighborhood. The donation will be used to fund field trips and purchase books, calculators, healthy snacks and educational activity supplies for students. The grant could affect up to 100 low-income young people.
"We're very grateful to the Make It Better Foundation for this grant," said Jim Farrell, development director at Hope House of Milwaukee, in a company press release. "Our organization depends upon the generous support of companies like Cousins Subs, and we couldn't be more pleased that they're standing behind our mission."
The grant is funded through Cousins Subs' Make It Better Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization established in 2013. The Make It Better Foundation addresses wealth and wellness, hunger and youth education in areas served by Cousins Subs.
"We selected Hope House of Milwaukee as the recipient of this grant because they're dedicated to teaching and improving the lives of young people," said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. "Hope House truly understands the importance of youth education, and they're working hard to prevent homelessness and enrich our community."
