Mobile freshly baked bread and cheese steaks hot off the grill are now available via Cousins Subs' Midwestern Traveling Sub shop, which rolled out near its home base in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last Thursday.
Though a definite map of the rolling restaurant's route was not available, the company said in a news release that it will visit events and festivities around the nation's midsection in coming days.
The modern, white truck emblazoned with gray words and red accents, first stopped at Milwaukee's Schlitz Park last week. It offers all types of deli sandwiches, including chicken and steak, with sliced cheese and those infamous Wisconsin cheese curds, according to its Twitter feed.
"Our Traveling Sub Shop allows us to bring the same quality sub sandwiches Cousins has been known for since 1972 to more people and places year-round" said Cousins Marketing Vice President Justin McCoy, in a news release. "What sets the Traveling Sub Shop apart is that every sub sandwich is served on Cousins Better Bread baked fresh on the truck daily and our cheese steaks are served hot off the flat-top grill—a freshness guests will taste."
A fundraiser for the Make it Better Foundation kicked off the truck's maiden week of voyages and collected $1,158 in a single evening for the company's charitable arm to be used for youth education, hunger, and health and wellness initiatives with non-profit programs near the company's headquarters.
