Construction for the first Culver's restaurant in Florida is underway following a groundbreaking ceremony Monday in Naples. Three other restaurants in Port Charlotte, Fort Myers and Sarasota, Fla., are also planned in 2013. Florida will be the chain's 21st state of operation.
"This is a great day for Culver's and a great day for Florida as we truly look forward to bringing great food and hospitality to the sunshine state," said Craig Culver, co-founder and CEO. "We know we have a lot of loyal guests here already and can't wait for new guests to come through the door."
The Naples restaurant, owned by Mike and Vinnie Busalacchi, is expected to open in August. The Busalacchi's own three other Culver's restaurants in Wisconsin.
Groundbreaking for the Port Charlotte location is scheduled for May.
