Culver’s Scholarship Program sets record

Culver's VIP Scholarship Program recently awarded 246 scholarships to team members, its largest pool of recipients since the program's inception in 1993.

In total, $278,000 was awarded to help further the education of Culver's employees planning to earn a college or technical school degree.

"Our commitment to our team members begins at the restaurant level where we teach them responsibility, leadership and teamwork skills," says Lea Culver, executive director of the VIP program. "Through the VIP we are able to extend our commitment by helping them reach their long term goals."

Primary financial support of the program comes from the contributions of Culver's supplier partners. Other funding comes from franchisee support, funding from Culver Franchising System Inc. and special events.

Team members submit applications for funding and judging teams are made up of supply partners and educators.

Since 1993, Culver's has invested more than $1.8 million in student scholarships to more than 1,800 team members.
