Culver's supporting future farmers

February 21, 2017

Culver's is getting down to its roots this week as part of National Future Farmers of America Week. The chain is sponsoring its third annual FFA Essay Contest to learn what youngsters hoping to work in agriculture in the future have on their minds, according to a news release.

Nearly 700,000 youngsters participate in the agricultural activities and leadership club, and Culver's essay contest is part of that chain's efforts to support farmers through its Thank You Farmers program, which has given more than $1 million to the FFA in recent years.

The chain's essay contests asks FFA members to answer these questions by March 31:

  • As a future ag leader, what do you want people to know about the agricultural industry?
  • How will you help to educate them on this subject?

Three winners will have Culver's help fund their chapter's trip to the national FFA convention in Indianapolis in late October by providing the first, second and third-place winners with $7,500, $5,000 and $2,500 respectively.

"We're excited to continue to hear firsthand from such passionate and knowledgeable students about the topics that are important to them," Culver's Senior Marketing Manager Jessie Corning, said in a news release.

National FFA Week runs through Feb. 25 and supports careers, education and the overall positive effects of agriculture on our world.
