McDonald's re-invention of itself now includes an attempt to capture the interest of hipsters, according to an article in Wired.
The struggling chain released its latest ad, which features a new form of packing created in partnership with ad agency Tribal: The McBike, a box that enables cyclists to carry the company's burger, fries and drink.
The McBike hooks on to a bike's handlebars and unfolds, where cyclists can find two pockets for fries and a burger to ride along during their commute, Wired reported. Sodas fit into a hole in the bottom of the McBike box.
"McDonald's is trying to reach a new segment," Walter Ioli, Tribal Buenos Aires, said in the article. "We found that the bike was one of the preferred means of transportation for millennials, so it was important that McDonald's adapts to the new habits of its consumers."
McDonald's lauched the campaign in Copenhagen and Medellin, Columbia, and plans to experiment in other bike-centered cities, the article said.
